  • Week 3

In week three we will take a look at secular pathways to recovery including: LifeRing, SMART Recovery, and Moderation Management. This week includes an interview on the topic of moderation, a pathway that often challenges those in the field. Could it be appropriate for any of your clients? Tune in!

  • Week 4

In week four we will look at gender specific pathways and resources for the collegiate population. Pathways include: Women for Sobriety and collegiate recovery. We will have interview with a member from Women for Sobriety, as well as an expert in collegiate recovery.

This course was beautifully comprehensive, insightful, inspiring, and well-organized. In a recovery sphere so dominated by the 12-step model, I had never even imagined that there were so many different approaches to recovery available. The course creator and moderator, Irina, did an amazing job of representing each path, particularly the more controversial ones (such as harm reduction), in a balanced, factual, and unbiased manner. The course consists of a series of in-depth interviews from professionals in the field. Each session is packed full of information and resources that are valuable not only to service providers in recovery, but to anyone wanting an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the many paths to recovery. I would highly recommend this course to professionals and aspiring professionals in the recovery field.

The Choice in Recovery course offers the awareness and knowledge needed for professionals to confidently recommend the recovery pathways that are most likely to be the best fit for clients, patients and consumers. Such valuable knowledge is power, and the right recovery program can be the difference between relapse or celebrating long-term recovery for someone under our care. We owe it to ourselves, those we serve and our communities as a whole to be in-the-know.
